I have an external cooler on my AWD and it makes a world of difference. I got it because I do a bit of towing and long distance driving. I'll be doing a service on my trans when I take the motor and box out sometime next year. I'll be changing the internal filter and a good once over check. I haven't had any real problems, just the occasional flaring when cold, but that is it.

Autotorque in Phillip, ACT did the wave spring for me.
I highly recommend them for this job as so far so good for me.

Yes, fitted at a bit over 90000km. Definitely helps life of ATF even without towing.

Generally yes, though in the last year or so it has started to occasionally show a few small age related niggles.

Hi Spetz, thank you so much for that info, I contacted them for a quote, their quote was about $900 less then another quote I got, they seem great to deal with with

    No problem.
If memory serves me right, the person I dealt with was name Joshua (or another name starting with a J).
These are the people who did WytWun's transmission as well as mine. They've also done this job prior to doing my car (which was a deciding point in going with them).

How far is it from where you live?
The replacement on my car took most of a day, however as previously mentioned they pieced the wave spring together and it was complete.
If they piece it together and it is incomplete that suggests a piece is still stuck inside somewhere. This necessitates a transmission removal to search for and as you can imagine by this stage the cost will skyrocket.

Hi Spetz, it was a guy by the name of Josh Pettiford that emailed me the quote, I was so surprised as often I never hear back from mechanics if I email them, the quote was itemized with labour and all the parts required, I was so impressed.

I'm in Bathurst so about 300 kilometres away, I guess its a gamble if I drive it there it could damage the transmission or could be fine, I have only had the car 3 months and have done just over 1000 k's in it, I'm tossing up whether to keep throwing money at it or cancel the rego and sell it very cheap, being a Verada AWD they are rare , rare in Bathurst anyway, will it be worth something one day I wonder? I will make my mind up over Xmas, it does go better then my KL FWD, it has a larger bore after market exhaust system, sounds good but also quieter then my KL Verada, which still has the factory exhaust system
